DentaQuest is the third largest dental benefits administrator in the United States. DentaQuest’s mission is to improve the oral health of all to achieve a nation free of dental disease. DentaQuest CEO Fay Donohue was aksed to share her thoughts about the trends in dental care financing—both private and public—so today’s trainees can think about how they will be paid in the future.
Ms. Donohue is the President & CEO of DentaQuest. Headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, DentaQuest sells commercial and government dental and vision benefit programs nationwide under the name DentaQuest. DentaQuest provides dental benefits to over 18 million people in 26 states. The DentaQuest Foundation is the nation’s largest foundation focused on improving oral health, and the DentaQuest Institute is a unique organization dedicated to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery of dental care.
Prior to serving as President and CEO, Ms. Donohue served as President and COO of Delta Dental Plan of Massachusetts. Before joining Delta Dental, she served as Vice President of Chartwell Home Therapies and Vice President of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts.
Ms. Donohue serves on the Board of the Delta Dental Plan Association. In addition, she is the Chairman of the Board of the National Institute for Children’s Health Care Quality and Chairman of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation. Prior board service includes the National Association of Dental Plans and Camp Fire Boys and Girls where she served as President of the Board.
An honor’s graduate of Bryn Mawr College, Ms. Donohue also holds a Masters from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and a Masters in Business Administration from Boston College.
